LOL yep steen it was a sad day when we had this moment.. seems like forever ago now and just yesterday sometimes.
Its something you work through and Im not sure you ever get a answer. I know I sure havent.
I mean Darrens distance may be a good thing .. when you look at the fan base. But I dont know tis hard to explain the great but strange relationship we all had with him. I think it was somehow unique and his words always seemed to be wise and somehow made the fanbase a close community. Nowdays his words I find throwaway and insincere and I dont even really listen. He is just not someone I relate to or really respect anymore. Maybe its me thats changed but theres a whole heap of his fanbase out there too thats changed as well I guess then

Some days it honestly feels like years ago @_@ LOL
Yep, i think for a period of at least 5 months there wasn't a day i didn't spend my free thinking time (like sitting on the bus going home or before i fell asleep at night) not trying to puzzle it all out and while i came to a few conclusions, overall i remain simply bewildered that this all happened the way it did at all *chuckle*

Yeah exactly, it's something you had to experience to really understand how it's changed, because it was so weird and good to begin with, something totally unexpected at least by me
I can understand the distance now because there are simply too many people around and way too many people with their own agenda's trying to get his attention, i would rather have that distance there. But it often feels like he just stopped trying or caring about some of the things i would have said he would NEVER stop thinking were important. Things like telling the truth, not playing the media game, trying to not hurt others, etc *sigh*

I'm very sorry to vent, but reading some posts on the fan club board makes me I want to scream! If I hear one more person say something like chill out or you need a reality check, ect I'm going to lose it. I think that people are entitled to their feelings nd opinions, and if people are feeling sad, upset or whatever about not hearing from Darren or other things that are going on that is no less valid than those who feel he should be "left alone". I'm sure that most people are just trying to hepl when they respond, but some people I think are just plain disrespectful and very dismissive of other people's feelings. I'm very sick of it! I've been thinking about all this a great deal lately. The one thing that keeps coming to my mind is perhaps maybe Darren has a sort of 'compassion fatigue' - a feeling where you give so much of yourself to others that in the end there's nothing really left to give and you just have to go away and spend a little time by yourself because otherwise you might end up losing your own identity. He used to give so much of himself to the fans that maybe it just drained all the energy out of him. I don't know really any more than anyone else why he seems more distant, this is just one of many of my thoughts and feelings about this whole situation atm. I don't expect people to agree with me about it, I'm not even sure of this concept myself but it's possibly the only thing that's making sense to me about all this now.
I'm not sure I really feel qualified to speculate and make critical comments about this. One day I feel one thing and another day I feel something else. Is feeling somewhat confused about everything right now

You don't have to apologise for venting Tamara. You need to do it sometimes and this board is good for that, as most of us on here know.
There's a big difference between posting to vent and just posting to be mean/disrepectful and stir up shit.
No-one here has done that to date and that's why this board rocks, imo

*sigh* I don't know, maybe it's just me I think I'm becoming more and more sensitive about the "missing" Darren issue and I'm taking everything that is said the wrong way .

Thanks Terry. I I guess I'm feeling a bit confused about things like Janie mentioned.

I don't think there is a "wrong way" to take it when someone's dismissive of others feelings. I'm not going to name her, but there is one person on the fanclub board who is just about the rudest person I have ever seen with her replies to those who disagree with her.
I'm also just as confused as Janie just now.
